I am Nicole, a professional baker with over 10 years of experience

Founded in early 1988, Gateway Bible Church started as a small congregation of just five members, all of whom came from the Church of the Nazarene tradition. Under the leadership of our founding pastor, Johnson Frazee, we placed a strong emphasis on youth evangelism. Johnson and his wife, Allene, generously dedicated part of their property for recreational activities like sand volleyball and other games, using tithes and offerings to provide resources for our Friday night youth gatherings.

As we grew, we sensed that God was establishing a church meant to minister to all generations.

On March 5, 1988, Tony Frazee was ordained through the laying on of hands and prayer by the church body. In the following year, God led us into a deeper spiritual journey. The Pastor and congregation developed a hunger for greater truth, preparing our hearts for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In 1989, the Pastor and several members received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. That same year, Johnson Frazee constructed a freestanding carport at his home to serve as a meeting space for the growing church. By 1991, we enclosed the structure, and in 1993, Johnson and Allene made a remarkable sacrifice—donating their home’s equity to the church, allowing Gateway Bible Church to officially own property at 1621 N. Pasadena.

Our expansion continued in 1994 when the church purchased 1627 N. Pasadena to serve as a dedicated children’s worship building. Both buildings, originally homes, were carefully remodeled for ministry use.

In 1997, through God’s provision, Gateway Bible Church was able to purchase the entirety of Johnson and Allene Frazee’s property—a true miracle for a small but faithful congregation! Then, in 1999, an unexpected and generous financial gift enabled us to completely pay off the $40,000 mortgage on 1621 N. Pasadena. Praise Jesus!

August 1999 marked another milestone as we established a Christian school, employing four full-time staff members, including our Senior Pastor, Secretary, and two Supervisors. Our vision remains clear and steadfast: evangelism, discipleship, and growth.

To this day, we continue to witness God’s faithfulness, guiding us as we serve His kingdom and reach more lives for Christ.
